Beating the winter blahs!

We all have the winter blahs around here, so yesterday we decided to visit our favorite summer place so I could get some winter pics.
These were taken in Marblehead, Ohio. Actually it's not just my favorite summer place, it's my favorite place, I love the water and the lighthouse.

Lilli's Birthday Bash

Yesterday I had the privilege of taking pictures at Miss Lilli's first birthday party. Lilli is adorable and I had a wonderful time. These are just a few from the day.

More Bokeh and Ornaments

I'm having fun with the shaped bokeh, this time I did stars.

Then I just started taking pics of our tree and some ornaments, the painted ones on slate were ones my oldest daughters, Kristie and Jessie made when they were in 4th grade. The bell was made by my youngest, Lindsay when she was in...hmm I don' t remember exactly but let's just say I hope she wasn't in 4th grade for this, but sadly she was probably older...lol

Bokeh

Thought I should post something, now that winter is here I don't take as many pics, but since Christmas time is upon us, I thought I'd try something I think is cool, getting shaped bokeh with the Christmas tree lights. If you don't know what bokeh is, it's the part of photos thats purposely out of focus, like blurring backgrounds out. You want good bokeh in your photos. I made a heart shape for these, but you can do them with other shapes as well. These aren't the greatest because I hand held the camera and it really should be on a tripod or setting on something, I still think they turned out pretty good though.
